The Workers Welfare School, Layyah was established in 2007 by the Punjab Workers Welfare Board under the WWF, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Federal Govt. with Mr. Abdul Rehman Bhatti as first Principal. The auspecious green campus is spread over 34 canals of land. An academic block with 36 lecture rooms, an admin block, an auditorium, a central library, Biology lab, Chemistry lab, Physics lab, Computer lab, a mosque and 02 staff residencies. In 2013, Board Classes were initiated in affliation with BISE, D.G. Khan. In 2018, Science labs were upgraded with mega procurement of scientific equipments and Library was upgraded under supervision of Mr. Mian M. Usman (Late Principal). In 2022, a Medical Dispensary was setup for the students. In 2025, the School has been designated as a BISE exam center for Matric & Intermediate classes. Recently there is a large scale procurement / maintaince of furniture, repair of buidling and uplifting of Science labs is going on under the visionary leadership of Mr. Tariq Mahmood (Current Principal).
